(AP) Mabel Mercer, the "gravelly" voiced cabaret singer who introduced "Fly Me to the Moon" and popularized "The Twelve Days of Christmas," died yesterday at the age of 84. Miss Mercer died at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Mass, according to Muriel Finch, a friend who was contacted at the singer's 30- acre farm in East Chatham, 1 N.Y. Her friends included Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Gertrude Stein; the Prince of Wales was among her fans.
