TIE EVENING SUN, Dec. 19, 1964 Prep Schools Park '5' Hurt By Lack Of Height By Larry Shane Before every basketball game, Park School coach Dave Rosen the opposing team's roster--and shudders at the sight of players 6-2, 6-3 and 6-4. Rosen has only one cager over 6-feet, Dennis Pushkin, and four other starters averaging a shade over 5-feet-10. Leading Scorer Transferred To make matters worse, Park's leading scorer last season, Billy Gordon, transferred to St. Paul's leaving behind a 16.6 average which may be hard to fill.

Fortunately, Tom Wallace, who saw limited action on last varsity, has blossomed into a topflight scorer averaging 25 in Park's first three contests. "Tom never started to develop until he began playing summer ball." says Rosen. "Now his drib. bling and shooting has improved 100 per cent." His brother, Lester, one of the Bruin's top pointmakers the last two years, has been averaging points to parallel his marks in previous seasons. Sachs Directs Backcourt Directing the backcourt is former jayveer Steve Sachs, clever defensive performer and fine playmaker.

Looking beyond these five starters, Rosen sees a definite problem. His substitutes--Eddie Morris, Jim Thomason, Sanford Swartz, Alan Davidson, Harry Wolf and Kenneth have managed only a single point in three games. The schedule: January 8. St. Paul's: 12.

at McDonogh: 15, at Friends; 19. Severn; 26, at Gibbons: 29. at Gilman. February 2, at Boys' Latin; 5, at St. Paul's: 9.
